anger management & drug addiction; applied notes for diagnosis & intervention

anger has always been among main obstacles in substance abuse treatment for both the patients and therapists. this is whilst numerous studies and clinical experiences affirm that if expression methods of anger and other positive or negative feelings remains the same, patient would still struggle with lapse and relapse and consequently, more drop outs would be seen in treatment settings. therefore, it is necessary for every professional in the field of addiction treatment to present emotion regulation interventions, especially anger management to clients and their families. but before offering such intervention packages, treatment system and the therapist himself must be aware of this necessity. in compliance with this matter, papers regarding this subject will be issued in the persian journal of addiction medicine; hoping to gain attention of active treatment networks and addiction flied professionals.
